Also for residents in the City of Hendersonville, the Sales Tax Referendum:
VOTE AGAINST THE PROPOSITION: “Hendersonville Investment in the Future Act” Proposal: To increase the sales tax rate $0.01 per $1 for up to 10 years to cover non-essential city items. This opens up a can of worms where when this increased tax will never be enough for the needs of a growing city which will ultimately lead to another increase in taxes (most likely property taxes) under the same act name or something similar. Reason: A staunch vote AGAINST this act will set a clear message to the city administration that they must learn to curb spending on non-essential items like the proposed soccer fields the mayor wants. |
